The tipical Ladin carnival in Fassa valley
It is carnival time here in Val di Fassa, our traditional masks are showing in the towns and bring joy and color around.
After the town festival from Alba end even more after the one of Penia in our Fassa valley the carnival is declared. The tipical “maschereda” that takes place the 20. January in Penia traditionally frees our masks, named Laché, Bufon e Marascon for the 4 feast weeks, where evrybody can admire our particular culture in the towns and even in the hotels since those are sometimes coming for a visit during the evening.
The “Carnascér ladin” has his peak point in the week from 14 to 21 February, with various events in each town, the main ones are in Campitello with “El gran carnascèr de Ciampedel” and “El Molin de la Veies” the 15.02 at 14:30 pm, the Carnival in the square of Moena the 17.02 at 14:30 and the closing ceremony with the “big bonfire” in Campitello the same evening at 20:30.
